Connexions Leicestershire have generously provided Serina Leeanne at New Parks Community Boxing Gym with two years worth of funding for the NEET youths of Leicester and Leicestershire.

NEET means ‘Not in Employment Education or Training’ and this project applies to you if you are also between 13 years old and 19 years old. Young people (both female and male) aged 13 – 16 can take part after school and aged 16 – 19 can take part during school hours.

NEET Leicester enables young NEETs to gain valuable skills and experience in the sport of boxing as well as other areas of their own personal interest, such as xBox repairing or catering. The choice is yours. Just let Serina know what you want to learn. Upcoming sessions include ‘First Aid at Work’ and courses to earn Boxing Tutor qualifications.

The project will assist young people to get back into education and employment via exit routes. New Parks Community Boxing Gym will help support young people to identify their skills and options available. The gym will work closely with Connexions and other organisations to ensure young people are getting the best possible outcome.
